Hunting in Spain

In Spain we can offer both the individual hunting on trophies and hunting as Monteria the traditional Spanish driven hunt.



Game species

Wildboar
The hunting of wild boar in Spain is similar to that in Germany. The wild boar is hunted in the Spain often in the form of Monteria but it can be also hunted from blinds at feeding sites. The second way in which the wildboars are feeded is especially promising when it comes specifically to hunt good trophies. The Monteria provides more variety because usually beside boars also other game can be hunted.



Ibex
The ibex hunting is probably the most well-known hunting for Spain. Our hunting areas are located in the mountains and open a wonderful view over the Spanish levels and combine hunting with opportunity to escape the daily routine in nature. In addition Spain has thanks to good game population also the ideal opportunity for hunters with little time to travel, as a 2 day hunting trip is already sufficient.
The ibex can I be hunted Spain in four different regions. All of these regions offer the ibex very different habitats characteristic but what all have in common are rocky cliffs. The areas range from the sea up to the high mountains (Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Gredos ).

Mouflon

In Spain you can hunt the European mouflon. The mouflon especially the old mouflons wear long horn trophies and are not easy to hunt. In Spain, the mouflon is very often living in thick bush

Spanish red deer
The Iberian red deer is a slightly smaller breed with body weights of 80 - 100kg. In comparison to European red deer antlers is not as long and strong, but still very good with trophies of sometimes up to 18 or 20 ends and a strong crown formation. Spain has an estimated population of 350,000 deer. The best ways to a good trophy is?during the rut in the second half of September. Our partner has different areas throughout Spain and they are selected according to the expectations of the hunting guest.

Chamois
In Spain, both the Cantabrian and the Pyrenean chamois can be hunted. The main method of hunting is stalking. You are accompanied by an experienced professional hunter with whom you hunt the corresponding trophies in the field. The hunt takes place as a mountain hunting so you usually hunt all day and lunch takes place during hunting in the mountains. The transport to the appropriate hunting areas is done with the Jeep, then the hunt is continued on foot. During the hunting sometimes hunting lodges are used in the mountains to save climbing up and down for the next day.

Fallow deer
The fallow deer is not as numerous as the red deer but we can offer the hunt on it in areas near Madrid. The hunt for the fallow deer takes place both as a single trophy hunt and as part of a Monteria.

Monteria
The traditional big game hunting in Spain is the Monteria a form of driven hunt with beaters and dogs. We hunt fallow deer, red deer , mouflon , wild boar and female red deer. Depending on the Monteria can be hunted on game species indefinitely or up to specified limits. The shot distance is usually 50 - 200m on the running game. After the hunt a lunch takes place in the field for all participants. The Spanish monterias is very precisely organized and the number strictly adapted to the existing hunting areas, with a minimum number of 10 hunters.

For groups of 8-12 shooters we can offer bird hunts on red leg partridge with an expected rate of 500-700 birds per day.

Hunting areas
The hunting grounds are distributed throughout Spain and are selected depending on the desired type of game. Our partner has many years of experience in the hunt in Spain and focused on specially selected fields in which they are hunting different game species but also can offer different levels of difficulty.

Accommodation is in lodges / Hotels (3-4 *) near the hunting areas.
