In Australia, we hunt with our partner on a large over 40000ha Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is an ideal habitat for a large number of animal
and plants and various game species and is located on the tropical coast in the region of the Northern Territory. Directly adjacent to the
Kakadu National Park, our partners owns here on his private area some of the best hunting in Australia , these include water buffalo hunts,
Wild boar hunts or catching of salt water crocodiles.
Water buffalo hunt The game reserve has a very high number of buffalos. The Australian buffalo are very hard shot and comparable to the African Cape buffalo, if not harder. The recommended minimum caliber is 338 Win Mag. The hunt for buffalo is carried out with the help of off-road vehicles or ATVs, either fresh tracks are found which cross the road, or you can see when driving individual bulls in the open plains. After the buffalo is seen he is stalked on foot to get a better look on it. The shooting distance varies from 20 meters in the thick bush to 100m in the open plains.
The horns of an adult bull measured from tip to tip, 95 - 105cm , with a length of 68 -90cm per horn. The weight of a water buffalo ranges from 700 to 800kg with exceptions of up to 1000kg.
Wild boar huntsOur partner has one of the highest populations of wild boar throughout Australia on its territory. It is not uncommon to see 100 or more pigs a day. The boar hunts can be performed very well as a supplement to the buffalo hunts. The grass-covered Plains are ideal habitats for the wild boar, which is reflected also in their weights of up to 140 kg. Pig hunting is mostly in the early hours of the morning and late at night. The teeth length of the boar is exceptionally good, ranging from 15 cm-25 cm, the strongest so far imposed Keiler had 30 cm (2005).
accommodation
The accommodations are all air conditioned and equipped with en-suite bathroom. The chef prepares the meals including local game, best Australian beef steaks and barramundi fish fillets. The meals such as breakfast and lunch can be taken both in the dining room as well as on the terrace with 270 degree views over the plains.
Rental weapon
Locally there are a number of different calibers in rental weapons available ( Blaser, Sauer, CZ Brno, Ruger , Beretta ), 375 H&H for Buffalo, 308 for wild boar 12er and shotguns for wing shooting. The weapons are equipped with telescopic sights or optics.
We will assist for the importpermits in case clients want to bring their own weapons. transport to the hunting area
The transportation can be done both on the road and by air charter. You will either be picked up upon arrival at the airport or from the hotel. The journey time is just 2.5 hours from Darwin to the hunting area. If interested, a propeller plane can be chartered then also paid extra to shorten the journey time to 25 minutes.
hunting season
There is a year-round hunting season but the best time is from late April until the end of November. The best climate is from May to September in that time it is usually dry with a very low probability of rain. The temperatures vary from 14 degrees at night to 32 degrees during the midday sun. The Australian summers are hot and humid too .
